Creating your own Halloween decorations is fun and a great way to reuse things you might otherwise just throw away. We have a craft using our diffuser reeds to create a spider web that will be the perfect addition to your Halloween decor.
What you will need for this craft:
- Left of reeds. You can just let the reeds dry if you don't mind the lingering fragrance or you can get the fragrance out by following the steps here.
- String. We used white, but you can use any color you want.
- Plastic spider. Spider rings work great!
- Glue gun.
Start by cutting each of the reeds to a shorter length. Cut one reed in half and then use those two shorter reed to measure the rest of them. Your reeds will all need to be about the same length for the spider web to work.
Next, you will need to wrap each of the reeds in string. Put a dot of hot glue to start and a dot of hot glue to secure the string at the end.
After all of you reeds are wrapped in string, hot glue them together to make the base of your spider web. In the center, where all of the reeds meet, secure the string with a glue dot and begin wrapping the string in a spiral out from the center to create the spider web look. Make sure to leave gaps in the spiral. Secure the end of the string with hot glue. You can also add hot glue at the end of each stick to make sure the string is secure.
The final step is to add your spider!
Put your own spin on the project by adding glitter or using colored string. If you make a spider web of your own, post it and tag us @farm2aroma on Twitter and Instagram and Farm to Aromatherapy on Facebook. Happy Halloween!
